We noticed two things
people fear forgetting most.
No app was solving them.

Speculo Labs is a one-person company building Sprout — the first app organized around people and decisions, not time and topics. We exist to help humans remember what actually matters.

It started with a fear most people recognize.

In early 2026, Daaihang Wong was thinking about someone he cared about — and realized he couldn't recall a single complete conversation they'd had. He had impressions. Feelings. But not the specific things that had mattered most.

He started looking for an app that could help. He tried Day One, Notion, Rosebud, Bear. All of them organized memories by date. By topic. By tag. None of them were organized around the people the memories were about.

He also noticed that after making big decisions, he had no record of his thinking. Not what he'd weighed. Not what he'd feared. Not why he'd ultimately chosen what he chose. Just outcomes, with no context.

""There are two things people are most afraid of forgetting — the people they love, and the decisions they've made. I couldn't find anything that was seriously trying to solve either."" — — Daaihang Wong, Founder

He built a prototype called Sprout that month. Everyone who tried it said the same thing: "This is what I've been looking for."

The Road Ahead

People & Decisions, Remembered

Building the deepest personal memory experience ever made — organized around the people and decisions that define your life.

Not a journal. Not a notes app.
Something entirely its own.

Sprout is not trying to be a better Day One or a smarter Notion. It's a different category: a personal memory system organized around the people in your life and the decisions you've made.

That's a narrow focus, intentionally. We believe the best software solves one thing deeply — not ten things adequately.

Organized around people

Not time. Not topics. The people in your life.

Decision-focused

Record context. Set time capsules. Actually learn from your past.

Private by default

Encrypted. Never used to train AI. Yours to export, always.

Intentionally narrow

We say no to most features so the ones we build are exceptional.

How we build, and why

Focus over features

We say no to 90% of feature ideas. The 10% we ship, we ship well. Sprout exists to solve two specific problems — deeply.

Behavioral science first

Every product decision is grounded in how humans actually think, remember, and change. Not what sounds good in a pitch deck.

Privacy is non-negotiable

Your memories are sacred. We encrypt everything, never sell data, never use entries to train AI. Ever.

We care about the human

Not engagement metrics. Not DAU targets. The actual wellbeing of the person opening our app each morning.

Build in public

We share what we're learning, what we're failing at, and what we're deciding. Transparency is how we earn trust.

Simplicity is design

If it's hard to use, we failed. Sprout should feel obvious, effortless, and inevitable — not clever.

One person. Clear mission.

Speculo Labs is a one-person company (OPC) founded and built entirely by Daaihang Wong. Independent, self-funded, and building in public.

We build Sprout in the open.

From day one, we've shared the story of building Sprout publicly — the decisions made, the experiments run, the failures absorbed. If that resonates with you, follow along.
